Title: Election Information Specialist

Duties: Increasing responsibilities over five years led to a position as project manager for the Washington State Online Voter Registration and MyVote personalized voter information applications. While managing the project, I coordinated efforts to streamline the voter registration process for new voters which increased voter confidence in the online systems and reduced duplicate registrations sent to county election offices.

Additionally I served as a graphic designer and front-end website developer writing HTML and CSS code for 37 websites that are part of the $8 million Washington Election Information (WEI) system.

I wrote and maintained an online help manual for WEI system users that reduced phone calls to help desk staff by more than 50 percent. I conducted in-person training sessions for WEI users and made public presentations of the system to audiences ranging from 50 to 400 people.

Finally, I was one member of a six-member team that produced the Statewide Voter's Pamphlet in 2006-2007. Forty-two editions of the publication were assembled, proofed and checked at the press, resulting in a 3 million copy print run and distribution to every household in Washington State. I managed the online version of the voter guide for the 2008-2010 statewide elections at www.vote.wa.gov

Title: Public Information Officer

Duties: Launched government television channel UPTV with 24-hour broadcast schedule. Wrote, produced, edited and hosted between three and four original television shows per month for the channel. Acquired and scheduled other programming to appear on the channel for the remainder of the 24-hour schedule.

Prepared news releases, photographed city events, edited and produced the city's monthly newsletter and annual report.

Title: Editorial Layout Director

Duties: Completed layout and design of 48-100 pages every other week for nationally distributed General Aviation News magazine using InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator. Obtained photographs from freelancers or corporations as needed to create multi-page feature layouts within the magazine.
