The South Bay Women’s Network, a group of professional women promoting each others’ business and personal activities in and around Los Osos, CA, needed a website redesign. “While our old site is ‘homey,’ which is part of our group’s appeal, it is very static,” the redesign request stated. “We want to offer our members a dynamic site that will help them network better through postings, a changing calendar, online newsletters, surveys, membership directory and possibly online luncheon reservation service.”
Another major concern was keeping the site user-centered, but also easy to update from a website administrator’s point of view. The group had used WordPress before and was most interested in using that platform to accomplish their goals. Working closely with a key member of the group, I was able to help them build exactly what they wanted without spending a ton of money. Continue reading
The Business Examiner, in Tacoma, WA, is the leading business news publication in Pierce County. They were in need of editorial page design on a regular basis and had heard good things from other clients about my work in this area. After one issue working together, a great relationship formed and I am happy to count them among my most regular customers.
I receive text documents, photos and a set of instructions every two weeks and return a polished, professional InDesign document they proof and then send to their printer. Some examples of the work I’ve done for The Business Examiner is below.
When Meyer Pro Services, a building maintenance company based in Olympia, WA, was ready to create a web presence they wanted something simple to update, reliable and flexible. They had a design, but needed expertise to get it on the web with functionality like photo slideshows and fillable contact forms that can’t be replicated in print.
The Steilacoom, WA, Chamber of Commerce produces an annual listing of all its member businesses with contact information for each, display advertising and general community information. I was asked to design the cover and several of the interior community information pages, as well as provide pre-press services for all advertisements being placed into the document.
The end result was a clean, professional booklet of information distributed to every household in the city. The Steilacoom Chamber of Commerce is very pleased. Continue reading

Sue Conrad, owner of Fitness Can B Fun in Morro Bay, CA, had a website built on the WordPress platform that she was happy with but she wanted it to do more. Sales is a tough business. Looking good is half the battle.
When Lynn Roberts International wanted to expand its reach from the Midwest to the West Coast, they hired Jeff Linden to spearhead their efforts. Jeff turned to me to create some tools for presenting his ideas to buyers for companies like Save-A-Lot, Books-A-Million, and more. The result was a set of PDF documents Jeff could print professionally at any Kinkos, Staples, or Office Depot around the country and hand out at his presentations to his important clients the next day.
